Stories

The elements I’ve been making reflect the qualities of #glass itself: delicate, ethereal, insubstantial - there and not there. After over a decade of living in the centre of vibrant and chaotic capital cities in Asia and Africa, learning to step slowly through rural Suffolk has been a process. I’m moved by the small remains and proofs of life: feathers, eggshells, birdskulls, beetles, fragments of natural design and the course of our seasons. As Blake had it: To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower’

Since I have also been getting reacquainted with drypoint etching I’ve also started to use the technique to show my stories through my stands.

Wunderkammer opens at The Quay Gallery this Thursday at 2pm and thereafter 10am -5pm until 8th May.
