A flaming heart, ex-voto, sculpted #glass ring for Valentines Day. The stylised and ornate oil painting is of Mary of the Seven Sorrows, a replica (by a Peruvian artist) of religious art from the Cuzco period, 17th-19th centuries. We had wondered into an antique shop in Buenos Aries (me and kid #3) and quickly realised it was for extremely serious collectors. The owner realised too, and after answering our questions about the real treasures, kindly showed us the most affordable items. I was very happy to come away with the decorative detail and layered symbolism of this gentle, maternal portrait. WIP for the portable shrine I will have at @beingwoman2025
